More info

From 5 to 18 May 2025, BDFIL will be celebrating its 19th edition with Guillaume Long, the Geneva-born French author who is the festival's guest of honour and the undisputed benchmark in culinary comics.

BDFIL is also delighted to welcome Poland, the festival's guest country, as well as Petzi, his sidekicks and their pedalo for an exclusive trip to Switzerland. There will also be the Centre BD de la Ville de Lausanne (the City of Lausanne Comic Strip Centre), which will be recounting the publishing (mis)adventures of manga in the French-speaking world, the Lausanne-based cartoonist Dora Formica, a commissioned project in collaboration with the Espace Horloger, an exhibition on the profession of scriptwriter and contemporary creation in progress with the 10th anniversary of La bûche, Richard Holzer and up-and-coming artists from Ticino. Two off-site exhibitions and an open-air exhibition complete the programme.

In all: 13 exhibitions, lively and festive weekends, colourful evenings and an anniversary programme to mark the 20th anniversary of the festival in Lausanne! And an annual theme - work - that will run through exhibitions and events in the city of Lausanne (and elsewhere) until November, because comics can be celebrated all year round!

The public days start on Friday (free admission) with the opening of sales areas and book signings, followed by a rich programme of events and conferences on Saturday and Sunday (admission charged).

The festival is taking place in the railway station district of Lausanne, with three main hubs: La Rasude, Plateforme 10 and La Maison de Quartier Sous-Gare. Two emblematic venues in the city complement the festival: Lausanne Cathedral and Pxyis, the House of Culture and Digital Exploration.
