Following the "Hodler et le Léman” exhibition in 2018, the Musée d'art de Pully has decided to take another look at the Swiss painter's work in a major exhibition. Organised in conjunction with the Musée d'art et d'histoire de Neuchâtel, the exhibition explores, for the first time, how Hodler was perceived by the Swiss art scene at the time and is the result of a collaboration with the Ferdinand Hodler Institute.

More info

At the beginning of the 20th century, the figure of Ferdinand Hodler was inescapable. The painter enjoyed recognition far beyond national borders, rubbing shoulders with artists of the calibre of Klimt and Rodin. The power of his work and his imposing personality made him a leading figure in Swiss art.

The exhibition brings together around fifteen works by Hodler and some fifty artists from the first half of the 20th century. They include famous names such as Cuno Amiet, Giovanni Giacometti and Félix Vallotton, as well as lesser-known or even forgotten painters such as Casimir Reymond, Oswald Pilloud and Anna Haller.
