More info

On April 10, 1912, RMS Titanic set sail on its maiden voyage from Southampton, England. The most luxurious and modern liner of its time, Titanic collided with an iceberg on April 14, 1912, at 11.40 pm and sank 2 hours and 40 minutes later on April 15, resulting in the loss of almost 1,500 lives. More than a century later, Lausanne is commemorating the tragedy that still resonates in collective memory by presenting “Titanic - The Exhibition”.

This educational exhibition well suited for families focuses on the powerful stories of the men and women aboard the legendary RMS Titanic (particularly the Swiss), narrated through more than 200 evocative artefacts and numerous reconstructions of the ship's cabins and iconic spaces.

And so begins a journey back in time to discover the history of the Titanic, from its construction to life on board and its tragic shipwreck, as well as the efforts undertaken to recover objects from the site of the shipwreck.
