This establishment has been awarded the “ Café historique de Lausanne ” label established by the city of Lausanne in 2021. A café made iconic by its proximity to the Cité’s high school, itself made famous by the book “L’Ogre” (“The Ogre”) by local author Jacques Chessex, Goncourt prize. Practically nothing has changed since 1951. Pettineroli’s paintings have been restored and give the place its character. The shady garden at the back is a popular meeting place on summer days.
