A sandy beach?! Yes, we do also have our “Venice Beach” in Lausanne. A stone’s throw from the Vidy Skate Park, there are volleyball and basketball courts, as well as small fine-sand beaches for a stroll. Want shade? There is that too! All along the promenade, the small beaches are shaded by magnificent oaks. Take your snorkelling gear and who knows, you might meet Nemo!

Louis Bourget Park, located between the lake and the forest, is an ideal spot for picnics with family and friends. You can walk, cycle or rollerblade along the path that follows the shore of the lake. The park also offers a view of the IOC headquarters.

In summer, the beach, park and extensive grassy areas are among the most lively places on the lake. It’s perfect whether you want to go for a swim in the lake, play an impromptu game of football, hire a standup paddleboard or pedal boat, or simply take a short jog surrounded by peaceful greenery.

Showers, public toilets and a playground are available.
