And yet autumn weather is no excuse to stay at home! It’s an opportunity to meet up with friends in one of the cosy places in town we have selected for you.

Ordinary Man – Coffee, Food & Art

Step through the door of this coffee shop and savour excellent coffee roasted with passion by the master of the house in the back of his shop. L’Académie Café

“J’aime me beurrer la biscotte” (literally “I love to butter my cracker” and figuratively “I love to let loose”), “On avait dit 3 parts Obélix” (“We said 3 portions, Obelix!”). Find these humorous breakfast menus in this unusual and authentic café in the heart of the Cité neighbourhood. There’s more too: healthy and delicious dishes as well as freshly squeezed juices such as “Jungle Elixir” or “Popeye” await you! Just what’s needed to fill up on vitamins and get ready for autumn!

L’Impression Café

Set up in the former printing house of the Nouvelle Revue de Lausanne (which explains the name, meaning both printout and impression), this café just 3 minutes away from the train station has a menu that will surprise you as it changes with the seasons. No worries, however: the brunch classics, such as avocado on toast and eggs benedict are still mainstays that will delight your taste buds. In short, this place is ideal for a healthy breakfast… Or not… as it’s hard to resist the French toast made with brioche baked by the 3-Michelin-starred Restaurant de l’Hôtel de Ville de Crissier. Plenty of dishes that will help you endure the cold now settling in.

Le Barbare

In autumn, we trade margaritas and mojitos for hot, comforting drinks. In this Lausanne institution, nestled at the foot of the Cathedral, you can savour the most legendary hot chocolate in the region (and beyond!) We also love to go there when it’s time for apéro to discover the tasty snack boards together with local beers and wines. All the products are fresh and local!
