The sun is out and temperatures are rising. After roaming the city streets, strolling by the lakeside, basking on a terrace and taking a dip in the lake, it’s time to savour an ice cream. To help you quickly find the place that sells your favourite flavour, we’ve put together a selection of the best vendors in Lausanne.

Manu Gelato

According to us, the best antidote to cool down in the city centre after a shopping spree is Manu Gelato, located at Place Pépinet. Emanuele Zanchi, the artisan ice-cream maker, has decided to bring back the Italian flavours of his childhood and we can only rejoice at that. His creations are succulent, made with products carefully selected from local suppliers whenever possible. At Manu Gelato, there are no processed products, because craftsmanship is as much a traditional technique as it is the choice of ingredients for the recipes.

Labo Gelateria

You’ll find Malou Zryd and her scrumptious artisan ice creams in a former bus shelter in Chailly. Her Italian-style ice creams are made without cream. She offers the classical flavours that everyone loves such as vanilla, stracciatella or chocolate, as well as more exotic ones from Asia (matcha, black sesame and ginger…). The LABO is aptly named, as Malou experiments with flavours. We advise regular visits to taste her latest creations!

Loom Gelateria

Located at Boulevard de Grancy 45 in Lausanne, Loom Gelateria is one of the most renowned places for ice cream in the city. During the summer season, it’s not unusual to see a long line of Lausanners and visitors waiting to taste one of their famous artisan ice creams. The flavours on offer are often surprising and unusual. Best of all, Loom is located nearby Milan Park and the lakeside.

Glaces Veneta Ouchy

Does enjoying an ice cream on the water’s edge sound tempting? Then head to Glaces Veneta on the Ouchy lakeside. Amaretto, Bubble Gum, Salted Butter Caramel, Chocolate, Fior Di Latte, Double Cream with Meringue, etc., you’re sure to find one (or more) ice-cream flavour to your liking. A mouth-watering treat! Besides, the small stand is right next to the pedal-boat rental. How about a spin on the lake?

La Bise

La Bise, an artisan ice cream parlour with a wide selection of homemade ice creams, milkshakes and coffees, has just opened its doors in the centre of town, at Rue Enning 8. There’s no doubt that this little newcomer has all the makings of a big name, and is sure to melt your heart!

And you, where do you go to enjoy an ice cream?
