We’re agreed that when we dine out, the most important is what’s on the plate. Nevertheless, satisfying our eyes just as much as our taste buds is quite the cherry on the cake (talking of which makes us quite hungry…). We take you to those places with an uber-stylish décor that gratify the stomachs of foodies as much as Instagram photo enthusiasts. Follow the guides!
1. La Villa Malfi
Welcome to Bali! Oops, sorry, welcome to Lutry… Then again, the décor of this lakeside restaurant could be a little confusing: rattan chairs, palm trees, macramé parasols and wicker lampshades, all the ingredients are there to create the atmosphere of a straw hut restaurant on an ocean beach. And we love it! The cuisine served will take you on a journey – this time to Italy – with simple, scrumptious dishes that are reminiscent of the south: smoked stracciatella, gnocchi alla Norma and mafaldine al tartufo.

2. L’Arrosoir
You’ll feel at home as soon as you walk through this restaurant’s door. The comfortable yellow armchairs, original picture frames and pretty baskets transformed into lampshades give the place the best cocooning feeling. One thing is for sure, we’re going to steal their idea of transforming old gin tonic bottles into table vases! We also salute the boldness of hanging a bike from the ceiling. On the menu, grilled octopus, chicken supreme or beef tartar, scrumptious and varied dishes live up to the setting.

3. Le Loxton
On entering, we’re informed that to reach happiness, we need to take the stairs. Once the stairs climbed, we understand what they’re driving at: we arrive straight in a décor worthy of the most beautiful Pinterest accounts! In such a cosy setting, we can immediately picture ourselves savouring a tasty brunch with eggs Benedict, pancakes or French toast. We also totally endorse the pretty terrace, perfect for summery days.

4. Un Po di Più
Un Po di Più is a bit like our nonna’s home, completely revamped by an interior designer. A décor that takes us straight to the Amalfi Coast for a wild ride on a Vespa driven by a handsome Italian, hair blowing in the wind. Tempting, isn’t it? What’s more, the journey continues on the plate, with the traditional burrata, gnocchi, pizza parmigiana and arancini al tartufo. A direct one-way ticket to the dolce vita!

5. Le Café de Prélaz
We love the white-tiled walls and ground-waxed concrete floor that give the place a rough-hewn industrial aspect contrasting with the pretty carpets, cosy sofas and wooden piano. Not to forget the plant-styled wallpaper and its famous “Baby one more drink” that we immediately want to take multiple photos of. And then, at the Café de Prélaz, it’s not only the décor that’s in good taste! All the dishes are delicious, with a menu that changes every week.

6. Le Pointu
Le Pointu needs no introduction and has become over time a proper institution when it comes to brunches in Lausanne… Lausanners won’t contradict us! In addition for being renowned for its poached eggs, French toasts and savoury pancakes, the Pointu is a hip meeting place that owes its reputation in part to its super trendy bistro atmosphere décor.
