Charlotte, the dancer rider
« Lausanne is a concentration of good vibes, of love and freshness ;) an inspiring city, a creative city, a sporty city. A city that moves and gets people moving, where I built myself and to which I am deeply attached. It’s a city where life is so pleasant that even the most travel-loving souls end up coming back here. »
My recommendations
In summer, the coffees at the Casse-Croûte de Vidy light up my day. In this small wooden chalet nestled by the lakeside, you’ll meet friendly and constantly smiling baristas. And find yourself wanting to linger for a chat!
The path in front of the IOC is where I love to go and practise longboard dancing. The conditions are ideal: really smooth concrete and the perfect slight incline to let myself glide in the flow as I perform a sequence of dancing movements.
Le Fraisier is a fantastic culinary discovery in Lausanne. Veggie meals made from fresh products at lunchtime during the week, and a gorgeous vintage décor. I just love it. A delight for the eyes and taste buds!
Ium is the brunch you’ve got to try. A place where you eat according to the chef’s inspiration and where you feel at home. A very cosy place that’s very popular, so remember to book!
Between Lausanne and Pully, Guilleman Park is a place to enjoy while recharging your batteries practising yoga, letting off steam with a sports session or simply contemplating the magnificent view over the lake and the Alps.
L’Atelier, located in a quieter street of Lausanne, is one of my favourite places to relax while sipping hot chocolate or start an aperitif.
The ideal place to practise longboard, skateboarding or roller-skating. Managed by several associations, each day makes room for another sport. My favourites are Monday evenings, when it’s reserved for an all-ladies practice with the Longboard Girls Crew Switzerland and Sunday afternoons’ open session organised by BOARDU. Not to forget the many events that are organised there, among which the only longboard freestyle and dancing competition in Western Switzerland, that will take place in autumn. Don’t miss it!
